If judging according these Swift's statements, it is possible to draw following conclusions: he was surrounded only by stupid and greedy people, or he was unable to give efficient advice. And as concerning tavern I did not hear that someone was drawn by force to a tavern and through funnel filled in a drink alcohol! Everybody chooses his own way by himself.
